back in Nairobi

After a short day in the National forest, the men headed back to Nairobi where they checked into their hotel. They finally were able to take HOT showers! They did not see many animals on their safari but still enjoyed the time and the sights. Tomorrow they are going to head into town to get some shopping done. It sounds like they had a great time but also sounds like they are ready to return home. Nick said he has journaled quite a bit and is excited to share his experiences. Stay tuned for the final post (at least by me!)on Tuesday! They will be leaving Nairobi about 2pm Dallas time on Tuesday! Yea!

Leaving Wamba

The men left Wamba today and took Regina, one of the ladies that cooked and cleaned for them, back home to her village.. They spoke to the people in the village there and then left for Eciolo, another town. They went from their mud huts at 2 bucks a night to their "five star" hotel where they are paying about 15 bucks a night, however...they have hot and cold running water and places to plug in their electronics! A week with no running water or electricity...could not even imagine!
Tomorrow they are getting up quite early and going to the Samburu National forest to see the sights of Africa! I am so excited to see the pics! Monday they head to Nairobi to spend the night and then wake up and hang out Tuesday until their flight!

last day in the field

Very quick phone call today, dinner was on the way. This will be the shortest post but also im sure the most powerful! They went to three villages today and there were not many people there. However, one of the villages they encountered was full of elders and a "chief". After speaking to them about the Lord, the elders said this is exactly what they had been looking for and they wanted our men to send someone back to help them start and build a church!!!! So exciting! They leave tomorrow for The National Forest! Im so happy, excited and proud of my hubby! I miss him terribly and have a new found respect for Military wives. There is just no way I could handle my husband being gone for such long periods of time...Thank you for following the journey and God Bless!
